Who we are
NDC Associates Ltd are commercial and residential Chartered Building Surveyors based in the North East of England with over 35 years’ experience in the public and private property and construction sectors.
Director Neil Cunningham BSc (Hons) MRICS established NDC Associates Ltd in 2006 to provide all our customers and clients with a personal service backed by over 35 years of experience in residential and commercial building surveying services.
Based in Chester le Street, we provide services throughout the North East of England including: Newcastle upon Tyne, County Durham, Sunderland, Northumberland and the wider UK.
We are regulated by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and backed by fully compliant professional indemnity insurance to provide clients with peace of mind when they use our services.

Building Contract Administration
Formal ‘Contract Administration’ of building contracts from inception to final account. Where needed acting as lead consultant in a consultancy design team on building projects.
Construction Project Management
Acting as a clients agent on building project helping the client manage the whole process, manage the project team and help reduce the risks from a construction contract.
Dilapidation Disputes
Working for landlords or tenants with assessment of and/or negotiation of a tenants repairing liabilities on leasehold property, during or at the end of a lease.
Expert Witness Services
Preparation of specialist Expert Witness Reports (for legal proceedings) on: building and construction defects; landlord and tenant disputes; neighbour disputes and surveyor or contractor negligence claims.
Party Wall Services
Advising building owners, neighbours, developers, and contractors on the Party Wall etc. Act 1996. Acting as appointed surveyor; agreed surveyor or third surveyor in party wall disputes, providing customers and clients with advice on how the Act applies to a building project and their rights and obligations.
Property Condition Surveys
A survey to record a properties condition to append to a lease to limit a tenants repairing liabilities at the end of a lease.

New Berwick Community Hospital
Appointed by Northumbria Healthcare NHS Trust to support them with their development of their new hospital in Berwick upon Tweed due for completion in 2025. Providing Party Wall Act services including party wall agreements negotiated with the neighbours of this project.
King Street, South Shields
King Street, South Shields
We have recently represented South Tyneside Council as their party wall surveyors for the demolition of a number of large buildings as part of a major regeneration of South Shields town centre.
Newcastle City Library
Newcastle City Library
Acting as the building owner’s surveyor for the development and procurement of the Newcastle City Library on behalf of Newcastle City Council. Services included detailed inspection of the metro rail tunnels and pre-construction advice in respect of party walls.
